Why has there been a tax code change?
All of
the tax codes are downloaded directly from the HMRC Gateway, or changed
according to paper notifications sent by HMRC.
Pay Check can confirm if a
notification has been received, or you may be able to view this if you have
access to the employer HMRC Gateway.
An employee whose tax code has changed
would need to call HMRC to ask why they have changed the code, or they
should have received a notification in the post explaining the tax code change.
HMRC do not include an explanation for the change of tax code on the
Employer Notification.
